July 2011: My "mood bead" necklace with daisy chain.
April 2010: Started a new necklace, a choker. Love these beads.
October 2007: I finished my second spiral rope necklace, this time with a "golden grains" seed bead mix.
September 2007: A couple of necklaces which will be Christmas gifts this year:
July 14, 2007: I had a gift card for Barnes and Noble, so I bought a couple of books this month, one of which was The Art & Elegance of Beadweaving by Carol Wilcox Wells. From it I learned a new beadweaving technique, spiral rope, this week. I picked out two tubes of seed beads I thought were pretty (some silver-lined sapphire blue and a mix called moonstone, which is composed of a variety of peach, white, and grey) and created a necklace from them. the blue is used as the core and the variety spirals around it. I love the way it looks - for some reason it reminds me of the beach. I used an old button from my button jar for the toggle clasp, and I really love the look.
May 2007: I have made a couple of necklaces recently, and plan to make more soon. I've got my bead mojo back! On the left, I used tranparent-brown barrel glass beads that I paired with some A/B finish pressed glass crystals. I also made some earrings to match this necklace. The scanner didn't pick it up, but these are very shimmery, and look very glitzy around the neck. On the right, I used some teal-colored pearl beads with some teal-lined square-cut gold beads and some 6/0 silver-lined gold beads. I haven't yet made earrings to match, but I did make a bracelet in the same pattern.
June 24, 2004: I decided I needed a new necklace, so I made one last night from some old glass and metal beads I had in my now very small stash. The green cube beads are translucent glass, but have a lustre about them, and I really like the contrast between the cool green and the warmer peach. I hope to make myself a few more necklaces for wearing around this summer.
Next is another beaded necklace that I made that I wear frequently. I really like the colors in it, a nice blue and purple mix.
